Strategic Investment Model – Offshore Wind Milestone Map
The Strategic Investment Model (SIM) group launched the new Offshore Wind Milestone Map to help track and identify the progress being made in Scotland’s offshore wind sector.

Innovation Exchange Challenge – Efficient Grease Removal for Safer Offshore Wind Operations
The Innovate UK Innovation Exchange programme is supporting G+, the global health and safety organisation, to engage with innovators to find solutions for the industry’s operational challenge to remove used grease effectively from mechanical components in offshore wind turbines.
The competition is open to UK businesses, academic institutions, start-ups and SMEs with solutions to make the task easier or faster.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to present to their innovations to organisations from the offshore wind sector and maritime industry.

Supply Chain Accelerator Fund
The Crown Estate has launched an expanded second round of the Supply Chain Accelerator.

The first round, in 2024, awarded nearly £5 million to 13 organisations. For round two The Crown Estate has increased the funding available to £15 million, with each successful applicant able to access up to £1.5 million of matched funding for UK projects that support the deployment of Offshore Wind. The scope has also expanded to support projects facilitating the deployment of both fixed and floating offshore wind.
The round will consider projects or facilities that support the manufacturing, fabrication and late-stage testing of fixed and floating offshore wind components, aligned with the priorities identified in the Industrial Growth Plan.

Surveys: Clean Power 2030 Supply Chains and Workforce Industry Forum
Following the publication of the Clean Power 2030 Action Plan, the Clean Power 2030 Unit at the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero has set up a new Supply Chains and Workforce Industry Forum. The Forum is chaired by Chris Stark as Head of Clean Power 2030 and brings together senior representatives from across industry, government, trade unions and other relevant organisations, to form a common view of the supply chain and workforce barriers to Clean Power 2030 delivery and devise targeted collective actions to ensure these needs are met.
Analytical Surveys
Building a comprehensive Clean Power 2030 supply chain and workforce evidence base is crucial to monitoring progress towards infrastructure delivery and informing policy making underpinned by data. The forum is gathering insight from industry on the following workforce and supply chain related gaps:
- Validating the National Occupational Methodology
- Developing a Regional Workforce Approach
- Critical Components & Supply Chain Dependencies
- Best Practices in Supply Chain Monitoring

Floating Wind Days | May 21-22, Haugesund
2025 will be a pivotal year for floating wind in Norway as the country installs its first large-scale floating offshore wind park out to tender.
Norwegian Offshore Wind’s Floating Wind Days (FWD) brings together key figures, leaders and guests from around the world to share experiences and knowledge about the sector.
The Clean Energy Custer team will be in Haugesund at the event, representing the Scottish’s offshore wind supply chain.

Peel Ports Tour | May 28, Glasgow
Scottish Renewables and Peel Ports Group invite delegates of the Planning Conference 2025 to visit the Peel Ports Group’s King George V (KGV) terminal in Glasgow on Wednesday, May 28.
This event offers a unique opportunity to explore the KGV terminal – a key hub for Scotland’s onshore wind sector.


The visit will begin with a short presentation in Glasgow city centre before travelling to the port for a guided tour of the terminal and its facilities. Delegates will gain insight into Peel Ports’ ongoing investments, operational capabilities and how the port is helping manufacturers and developers efficiently deliver projects across Scotland and the UK.

Scottish Renewables Supply Chain Impact Statement 2024/25 Launch
The Scottish Renewables Supply Chain Impact Statement 2024/25, launched on April 30, showcases how organisations from heat pump suppliers and training providers to mooring specialists and construction companies, are tapping into the growing opportunities of the renewable energy industry.
This year’s Supply Chain Impact Statement features 39 organisations and represents more than 9,700 jobs.
