Opportunities
Breakthrough Energy Fellows Programme
The Breakthrough Energy Fellows programme targets early-stage climate technology innovators with breakthrough ideas that could reduce or capture at least 500 million tonnes of greenhouse gases a year. It offers funding and extensive in-kind support including mentorship, access to industry networks and a tailored curriculum. Applicants are typically companies with less than $2 million in dilutive funding and must be incorporated before the September 2026 start date.
Applications are now open for the 2026 cohort.

Local Innovation Partnerships Fund
Managed by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the Local Innovation Partnership Fund (LIPF) is a new £500 million fund designed to drive regional innovation-led economic growth by supporting high-potential innovation clusters across the UK.
The fund targets “triple helix” partnerships among civic institutions, universities and businesses that can develop compelling portfolios of near-market R&D, tech adoption and scale-up activities aligned with local strengths and national priorities.

FW Works – Minor Maintenance Framework
The Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission PLC (SHET) is launching a multi-lot Minor Maintenance Framework covering six geographic regions across Scotland — Highland North, Highland South, Highlands & Islands, North East, Tayside East and Tayside West.
The contract scope spans defect correction and planned maintenance at around 180 sites (estimated total value £5.5 million). Work includes building repair, roofing, plumbing, fencing, fabrication, groundworks, mechanical/electrical support and winter maintenance.
Offshore Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP) – Industrial Growth Fund
The Offshore Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP) has launched its Industrial Growth Fund (IGF) to fast-track UK manufacturing of critical offshore wind components.
Funding is available from £300k up to £25 million per project. The fund targets UK-based organisations investing in expanding or creating supply-chain facilities, covering turbine blades, cables, foundations, advanced environmental services and O&M technologies. Both projects that meet CIB criteria and those that do not are eligible.
Applications are open now and must be submitted by Friday, December 12 on OWGP’s website.

Concrete Workshop and Networking Reception | November 12, Aberdeen
Floating Offshore Wind 2025, co-organised by Scottish Renewables and RenewableUK, returns to Aberdeen on November 12 and 13. On day one, The Clean Energy Cluster invites members to join us for a hands-on Concrete Workshop, exploring the role of concrete as a low-carbon material for the construction of floating wind foundations. Open to all cluster members and conference delegates, the session is a unique chance to learn, share expertise and connect directly with peers shaping Scotland’s floating wind sector.

Local Authorities Engagement | October 23, Online
As part of our engagement strategy, The Clean Energy Cluster met with the Scottish Local Authorities’ Economic Development (SLAED) group, connecting the cluster with all 32 Scottish local authorities. During the meeting, we provided an overview of the cluster, our activities, and our priorities in supporting the Scottish offshore wind supply chain. Crucially, we laid out clear pathways for support and collaboration that local authorities can access to assist suppliers in their respective regions. Aligned with our National Voice, Regional Growth approach, this engagement was a fantastic opportunity to kick-start our connection with local authorities to deliver region-specific offshore wind supply chain support on a national scale.

Hydrogen Scotland Conference 2025 | October 28–29, Aberdeen
The Hydrogen Scotland Conference 2025 is scheduled for October 28–29 at the Hilton in Glasgow. This two-day event will focus on building Scotland’s hydrogen economy, addressing key areas such as scaling up low-carbon hydrogen production, strengthening local supply chains and exploring export opportunities. Day one will feature interactive workshops and an Awards Dinner, while day two will offer plenary sessions and panel discussions with industry leaders. The conference aims to foster collaboration and innovation within the hydrogen sector.

Meet the Contractor: RJ McLeod & Muirhall Energy | November 4, Abington
RJ McLeod and Muirhall Energy are hosting a supplier event organised by Supplier Development Programme (SDP) on Tuesday, November 4. This event focuses on the upcoming seven turbine Priestgill Wind Farm project, where Muirhall Energy has secured planning and RJ McLeod has been appointed to deliver the balance-of-plant contract covering civil engineering, cabling and off-site highway works. Suppliers are invited to connect directly with RJ McLeod and Muirhall Energy to explore subcontractor, supply and service opportunities, especially micro and small businesses, agricultural suppliers, fabricators, plant hire companies and more. This is a free event, but spaces are limited.

FMS Facilities Tour – Floating Offshore Wind 2025 | November 11, Aberdeen
Delegates of the Floating Offshore Wind 2025 conference are invited to join a pre-conference tour of cluster member First Marine Solutions facilities in Aberdeen. The tour will take place on November 11 from 1pm to 4:30pm. Attendees will get a behind-the-scenes look at how FMS deliver safe, innovative and cost-effective marine solutions to the offshore energy sector. On the agenda are live demonstrations, presentations on integrated services and technological developments, as well as a few fun games for the competitive amongst you.

The Scottish Green Energy Awards – the UK’s largest celebration of renewable energy – return to Edinburgh on December 4. UK Trade and Export Finance Forum | February 5, London
The UK Trade and Export Finance Forum 2026 is a premier event for UK exporters and international corporates seeking finance. Scheduled for February 5 at the InterContinental Hotel London – The O2, this forum offers a full day of presentations, case studies, panels, workshops and networking opportunities. Attendees can engage with finance and business leaders to explore the latest developments in export and trade finance. The event is organised by UK Export Finance (UKEF) and the Department for International Trade.

Vision for a New Maritime Innovation Hub for Scotland
Maritime consultancy Royal HaskoningDHV, on behalf of Scottish Enterprise, is undertaking a feasibility study to establish a Scottish Maritime Innovation Hub. Cluster members are encouraged to share their views on the proposal. The proposed hub would support the maritime sector and its wider industrial supply chains in adopting new technologies by fostering connections across the technology, academic, logistics and maritime domains, benefiting trade, logistics, safety, sustainability and innovation. Your responses will help the study understand your appetite for innovation, the value you’d seek from the hub, feasible management models and sector-specific challenges and barriers. Results will be published and further engagement will follow later this year.
Scottish Renewables Supply Chain Impact Statement 2025/26
Submissions are now open for the seventh edition of Scottish Renewables’ Supply Chain Impact Statement. This flagship document provides a snapshot of the economic growth that renewable energy projects are delivering across Scotland’s supply chain and is seeking submissions from supply chain companies based in Scotland that have renewable energy successes to share. The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Wednesday, November 26. Don’t miss your chance to share your good news stories, including new contract wins and innovations to new offices, growing teams and increasing ambitions in technologies such as offshore wind, green hydrogen and low-carbon heat.

Share your views: “Unlocking Business: Reform Driven by You”
The Department for Business and Trade and HM Treasury are seeking evidence from large and small businesses, entrepreneurs, investors and industry experts on regulations that are out-of-date, overly burdensome or stifling growth. This call for evidence, published on October 21, aims to support the UK target of reducing administrative regulatory burdens by 25%. The questionnaire asks you to share examples of direct cost burdens, indirect opportunity costs and regulatory processes that limit innovation or investment.
Respond before the deadline on December 16.
The Clean Energy Cluster Annual Survey 2025
The Clean Energy Cluster is focused on providing suppliers with the streamlined support that they need for growth, showcasing Scotland’s capabilities and fostering collaboration across the industry. As we continue to build our strategy, we want to ensure the support on offer is as relevant and impactful as possible. Our approach is to be driven by member demand and we are inviting members to share their views through our member survey. The survey aims to better understand your business needs and how the cluster can maximise opportunities for your organisation in the offshore wind sector, across Scotland and beyond. The survey will take approximately 5–7 minutes to complete.
